AFP 2019 Congress Webcast: More Than a Movement - The Power of Youth Philanthropy

November 26th 2019
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EST

The AFP Foundation for Philanthropy – Canada and ViTreo Group Inc are pleased to present a complimentary live webcast on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 from 2:00 - 3:30PM EST as part of #AFPCongress2019.

The year was 2011, and in what would become one of Invisible Children’s most audacious fundraising campaigns, thousands of youth across North America accepted the challenge to raise 2 million dollars in just four short months. From opposite sides of the continent, Taylor (a student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia) and Gerri (a Regional Representative based at Invisible Children’s Headquarters in San Diego, California) took on the impossible, determined to do their part and raise funds to help end the longest running conflict in Africa.

In this session, you will hear first-hand accounts of how, when given the avenue to share their passion and creativity for a cause, youth play a critical role in fueling organizations to meet their fundraising goals. Taylor and Gerri will also address the need to continue nurturing youth in fundraising to ensure long-term participation and additional remarkable contributions to the philanthropic sector.
