Tamara L. McCarron is a strategist, researcher, and fund development professional with extensive experience across the nonprofit, post-secondary, healthcare, and private sectors. She helps organizations navigate complexity, strengthen relationships, and develop strategies that support long-term sustainability and meaningful impact.

Combining business acumen with research expertise and practical experience, Tamara brings an evidence-informed and collaborative approach to organizational strategy, sustainable revenue generation, governance, and stakeholder engagement. She is particularly interested in challenging conventional approaches, identifying new opportunities, and bringing diverse perspectives together to inform better decisions.

Tamara holds three degrees from the University of Calgary, including an MBA and a PhD from the Cumming School of Medicine. Her doctoral research focused on developing a value-driven, co-designed framework to support and sustain patient engagement. This work continues to inform her approach to meaningful participation, collaborative decision-making, and ensuring that lived experiences contribute to organizational and systems-level change.

Throughout her career, Tamara has helped organizations strengthen partnerships, diversify revenue, and advance strategic priorities. Her experience includes contributing to a major corporate investment supporting the development of Wonderville.org, an award-winning digital learning platform, and developing an affinity partnership program that generated more than $1 million in combined corporate and alumni annual gifts. Her work also extends into social finance, including service on the Sector Advisory Committee for the Canadian Social Finance Fund.

A Leadership Calgary graduate, Tamara has long committed to community leadership and civic engagement. She has served on numerous boards and advisory committees, including the University of Calgary Senate and as Chair of the Calgary Girls School Board of Directors. She has received several honours, including Calgary's Top 40 Under 40. Outside of her professional work, Tamara enjoys the outdoors, gardening, kayaking, and exploring new ideas and perspectives.
