Carolyn helps purpose-driven organizations turn big goals into funded programs and clear, compelling communications. She blends practical fundraising strategy with human-centered storytelling that builds trust and inspires people to act.
For over 14 years, Carolyn held senior fund development and communications roles with the Safe Haven Foundation of Canada, most recently serving as Community Engagement Officer. She has led and supported complex fundraising initiatives, including major events, sponsorship programs, and grant portfolios, and contributed to a $2.6 million capital campaign through strategy development, case creation, and diversified fundraising approaches.
Earlier in her career, Carolyn built marketing and sales expertise in hospitality and tourism and turned her lifelong love of horses into work managing and teaching equine programs. Together, these experiences strengthened her ability to build community, connect with diverse audiences, and deliver exceptional client experiences.
A born-and-raised Calgarian, Carolyn brings a strong understanding of Calgary’s philanthropic community and the broader Alberta landscape. She has served on the Executive Women International (EWI) Calgary Board, supported High River flood recovery communications, and volunteered extensively in equine and youth-serving organizations. She holds a Hotel and Restaurant Management Diploma from SAIT and a Tourism Specialization Certificate from the University of Calgary.
Outside of work, Carolyn loves long walks with her energetic Husky/Golden Retriever X, hiking in the mountains, and enjoying Calgary’s creative arts and music scene.
