Arlene Adamson

Arlene has been with Silvera for 10 years advocating locally and provincially for seniors, driving a compelling vision and leading a high-performance team of 400 caring staff.  The organization has undergone transformational change with a commitment to support residents to live their best lives.  As part of the effort to meet housing demand Silvera is actively advancing a progressive capital development strategy with multiple projects underway. 

Prior to Silvera, was with YWCA, for nine years in both as the Chief Operating Officer wherein she led the organizations successful financial turnaround, achievement as Top Alberta Employer, and her earlier role as Director of Fund Development/Communications she increased philanthropic programs <100 to $3M annually, secured their largest donor gift and envisioned and launched the ‘Walk a Mile in her Shoes’ event. 

Arlene has a strong track record as a transformational leader and change agent in the Calgary social-serving non-profit sector. She has a relentless and positive commitment to, and advocacy for, seniors and those more marginalized in our society. A long-established ability to inspire teams for organizational excellence and accountability, strong governance and measurable  impact and a unique track record—locally, provincially and nationally—of building collaborative relationships with government, among sector partners and throughout the broader community.

Arlene serves as a Board member of ASCHA representing 154 organizations, 40,000 seniors. She is a Board member of Calgary’s Housing Affordability Collective (CHAC), and represented Silvera on Calgary’s first ever collaborative Capital Campaign RESOLVE raising money for 9 agencies.
