You train four years for this one game, but the time that it takes and the amount of work and sacrifice it takes, not just the 23 players on this roster but those who worked hard to get on this team and did not make it. This is what we worked for, the chance to win a gold medal. -- American women’s ice hockey player Monique Lamoureux-Morando on being one win away from a gold medal. (She scored the game-tying goal in the final of the 2018 Winter Olympics, on February 22, before her twin sister Jocelyne scored the last shootout goal of the game to clinch the gold medal.)

  • Arts center donation expected to help offset rising costs (Leader-Telegram) "The Confluence Arts Center in downtown Eau Claire [in Wisconsin] will have a new name, thanks to a $5 million donation from a recently formed local philanthropic group that will help fill an arts center funding shortfall created as its cost has risen about $13 million, to $60.5 million.
