A passionate fund development professional, Larissa brings strategic, proactive and collaborative leadership skills, and proven success to clients.
Larissa has successfully delivered campaign direction and counsel, feasibility studies, assessments, mentorship, and interim management to clients in the post-secondary, social services, arts and other sectors since becoming a consultant in 2012. She specializes in the design and implementation of sustainable fund development programs, building philanthropic culture and solid relationships with diverse stakeholders, interim fund development and leadership management, and team development. Currently, as Campaign Director for Lakeland College, Larissa is leading its
$10 million community fundraising campaign.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Larissa was the first Development Manager for Decidedly Jazz Danceworks (2003-2011). During that time, she implemented an integrated fund development plan that resulted in new and deepened partnerships and significantly increased revenues, while also doubling revenues for individual giving.
A member with the AFP Calgary and Area Chapter since 2003, Larissa’s volunteer commitments include co-chairing the chapter’s Every Member Campaign (2007 and 2008), co-chairing National Philanthropy Day (2006) and serving on the Board of Directors (2005-2008). Passionate about life-long learning, Larissa attained her Certified Fund Raising Executive accreditation in 2013. Her education includes the Business Essentials Program (“mini MBA”) at the University of Calgary, a National Program for Fundraising Education certificate from Mount Royal University and a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours in English from the University of Alberta.
Larissa's love for the nonprofit sector was sparked during her 11 years as a dancer and arts administrator with Canada's Ukrainian Shumka Dancers and where she performed on top stages across Canada and the USA. She is fluent in Ukrainian and continues to perform Ukrainian dancing to this day. Larissa is an enthusiastic volunteer with various community groups in Calgary and Edmonton and a keen traveller sparked by her time living in West Germany for three years as a young girl.
