Senior Associate

As a consultant working with ViTreo and its predecessor company Nine Lions for the past 11 years, Jolayne has had the great privilege of working with clients in all sectors of the nonprofit world. She brings with her over 20 years of nonprofit management experience and education. Since her first grant writing assignment with a small nonprofit dedicated to Aboriginal education and employment, she has worked with conservation groups, the arts, education providers, government, and social service agencies.

Jolayne enjoys creating capacity and sustainability for a variety of nonprofit organizations. She worked with numerous fundraising volunteer committees, boards and staff members within organizations at various stages in their philanthropic programs. She has been successful in the areas of foundation, individual and corporate relations, case development, staff recruitment and retention, and delivering major gift campaigns. Her greatest joy as a consultant is conducting feasibility study interviews – hearing what is at the heart of a donor’s motivations and understanding their alignment with a cause.

Jolayne is a strong proponent of mentorship and has benefited significantly from both sides of such relationships. She was an active mentor with the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) for many years. She served two years on the AFP Calgary and Area Board and was on the steering committee for the AFP Banff Compass Conference 2015.  She currently sits on the Board of the Southern Alberta Land Trust Society. She is also an active volunteer with Story Dogs, a school based literacy program for students in grades 2-4.

Jolayne has completed her National Certificate in Fundraising Management at Mount Royal College. She graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction and then successfully pursue her Master of Arts in Philanthropy and Development at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. She received her CFRE designation in 2003. Jolayne lives on a ranch southwest of Calgary with husband and two children.
