Candice Naylen, CFRE
Candice Naylen has extensive fund development experience in the nonprofit sector and particularly in the post-secondary environment. Candice has been a consultant for over two years, prior to which she was with the University of Calgary for ten years and the University of Western Ontario for seven years.
At the University of Calgary, Candice held various leadership roles in the Faculties of Science, Haskayne School of Business, School of Public Policy and most recently with the Faculty of Environmental Design. She was responsible for multi-million dollar fundraising goals.
She was also responsible for the management of the University’s planned giving and student awards program. She has fundraised for multiple programs, capital projects, research, and special projects that were priority needs for the university. Candice’s strength is in building major gift programs, which she did successfully for several faculties at the University of Calgary.
Candice is very passionate about development and her career spans many areas of fundraising and non-profit management including leadership and major gifts, volunteer management, legacy giving, special events, donor relations and stewardship.
Candice was one of the youngest recipients of the CFRE designation. She has also volunteered for many non-profit organizations. Candice was a recipient of the “Women’s Executive Network’s (WXN) Top 100 Most Powerful Women” in 2007 and was an advisory board member with WXN from 2008-2015. Candice volunteers in her community, including AFP Calgary and most recently was the 2015 co-chair for Ovarian Cancer Canada’s LOVEHER event.
She has a Bachelors Degree from Western University, fund development certificate from Fanshawe College and a Master’s Degree in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
